Are you financially savvy with a passion for giving back? We are looking for a dedicated, experienced Treasurer to join our board of trustees and help manage our finances. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in supporting us, a UK based charity committed to our vision of “We will help you to create change to improve lives for the long term”.

Anglian Community Trust (ACT) was formed in 2014 to ‘promote and protect the social, mental and physical health, welfare and well-being of people in the community of North East Essex, and surrounding areas’. Since that time ACT has distributed around £500,000 in donations to local charities and community groups. There are exciting times ahead for ACT in collaboratively making decisions about how our funding can be used to make a real difference to the health and wellbeing of communities in and around North East Essex, both by supporting impactful projects/services and by identifying further investment and fund-raising opportunities.

What you will do:

• Oversee the charity’s financial affairs and ensure they’re legal, constitutional, and within accepted accounting practice.
• Monitor and report on the financial health of the charity.
• Ensure proper records are kept and effective financial procedures are in place.
• Liaise with external auditors and manage financial audits.

What we’re looking for:

• A background in finance, accounting, or bookkeeping.
• Experience with charity finance (preferred, but not essential).
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance professionals.
• A commitment to our cause and the ability to volunteer your time and expertise.

What you will get in return:

• The chance to make a tangible impact in our community.
• Networking opportunities with other trustees, volunteers, and stakeholders.
• An invaluable opportunity to develop your skills in a meaningful sector.

This is a voluntary role with a flexible time commitment. You’ll help ensure our charity remains financially stable and able to deliver our life-changing work.

We encourage and welcome applicants from currently under-represented groups and with a variety of diverse backgrounds, interests and experiences who are committed to improving our local communities and enhancing people’s lives.

Interested? Please send us your CV and covering letter to [email protected].
