ACT launches new grants programmes

ACT was recently relaunched at the opening of the new Level Enterprises premises on St Johns Street in Colchester. ACT funded 60 reusable cups for Level Best Enterprises cafes, as well as a new compost loo for their nearby allotments.

The event took place on Friday, 14 April, when a number of the ACT Trustees attended to celebrate the opening of the new premises with Level Best Enterprises staff, key supporters and they help they help everyday to have better lives.

ACT awarded £500 for the cups and £1,500 for the compost loo.

The opening of the new premises was a huge success for Level Best Enterprises, which has moved into a fantastic new building that is much more visible than their previous space on Culver Street East in Colchester.

It boasts an impressive new cafe at the front of the previous Gellars butchers building that will be serviced by the people who they support with learning disabilities. It will serve delicious food under the supervision of a very experienced cook.

The cafe has now been open to the public since Monday, 17 April. Level Best Enterprises already helps over 60 people with learning disabilities with various training courses, including cooking, creating art work and pottery making.

This new building provides them with even more space to offer a wider variety of training courses.

ACT is proud to be supporting Level Best Enterprises with its ventures. Level Best Enterprises is the first organisation to benefit from ACT’s relaunch, but it intends to support many more organisations like this in the future.

Its new grants programmes consists of small grants for £500 and less, as well as bigger grants for over that amount. Contact us to make an enquiry.
