Uniform 7 is in the final round of ACT funding

ACT is in the process of awarding a couple of grants to two new projects following the conclusion of a Hackathon campaign that started in November 2022 and ended on 3 April

Uniform 7 is in line to be awarded £11,000 and the Underdog Crew is in line to be awarded £9,000. The grant for Uniform 7 would enable it to develop its clothes for children with Autism and Special Needs, to make them more comfortable for than traditional uniforms. It aims to help young children feel more included in all schools in North East Essex and beyond.

During the initial Hackathon event in November, 7 groups received training from experts in business and the charity field over two weeks to provide a presentation and video for the ACT Trustees to consider.

The Trustees liked all of the projects, which then made it through to the Hackathon Social Impact Accelerator, which consisted of them receiving further intensive training over the next 12 weeks.

At the end of these sessions, they were invited to put together a final pitch and presentation to the Trustees on 3 April, which is when the individual projects were chosen for the final round of consideration.
