ACT's Young Lives Film
Competition - Last year's winner - Eva Jones from the Colchester Sixth Form College won £300

We've relaunched our film competition again this year, in association with the Colchester Independent Short Film Festival. Young people, between the ages of 11 – 21, are invited to submit a 2-4 minute film to reflect on the challenges and problems they have faced during their lives.

We want to learn about the issues young people experience, so we can share them with health professionals in the voluntary and statutory sectors, who can help work out ways to address their problems in the future.

ACT Funds two exciting new youth programmes

Anglian Community Trust has funded two new projects that will help to improve the lives of young disadvantaged people in North East Essex, many suffering from mental health problems.

It has awarded £9,000 to the Underdog Crew to produce an exciting new youth TV pilot about the lives of young people in Colchester, called The Slip.

ACT has also awarded £11,000 to Uniform7, which will create new clothes more suitable for children with autism and learning disabilities, who struggle with traditional uniforms.

Featured Project

Level Best Art Cafe

We recently provided funding to the Level Best Art Cafe to help increase its support for people with learning disabilities, backed up by their many volunteers. This included the funding of a new compost toilet, which has enabled the people they help to spend more time using the allotments, which improves their health and well-being.
